I'm looking forward to trying this place out but cannot find any information on their menu. What's your best guess for the price of a lobster roll? $20?

A friend just brought me a copy of the menu. $14.80 seems very inexpensive.

I've never had a lobster roll and have been wanting one for about a year now.

Went for lunch today. Ordered takeout. Got my wife the Lasalle's lobster roll with regular butter. It's 4 oz. seasoned lobster on a buttered roll. she enjoyed it.

I got the BLT lobster roll on buttered roll. Lobster, bacon, tomatoes and lettuce. It was decent-- small portion but flavor was good. I kept looking for a traditional lobster roll on the menu but could not find one. There are lots of options, including some crawfish and shrimp rolls, soups and salads. $40 for two rolls, chips and two drinks.

Service was friendly and I met the GM, wished him good luck. I hope they do well, but the price of the portions could scare some.

I also hope that they refine their menu a bit--there are too many options. Maybe offer a traditional roll?

Lobster rolls are good, but just not worth the price down here, especially because the portions are usually pretty skimpy. I get that it's lobster, but I'd rather spend $15-20 on something else.

What kind are you talking about? The cold, mayonnaise-style roll? Plain lobster on a buttered roll is also traditional in many areas.

The lobster rolls I’ve had in the northeast were like $20, so either I got had or this place is very reasonable if they’re doing them for $14.

at 14 bucks for one down south, its most likely spiny lobster and not the Maine lobster.

I made the lobster salad 1.5 gallons at a time last summer in Maine. Bought the lobster off the boat, steamed them, picked them then finely chopped up some celery and shallots. A little lemon zest and some dill. Added just enough mayo to hold it all together and salt and white pepper to taste. Load that thing up in a buttered bun. Man, that shite was good.

Definitely a price point thing and it's not fresh Maine lobster

I like the cold ones with mayo over the warm ones with butter but have had both in Maine and will try the one here but I don't think it will be a regular place based on price and quality.

I got some Maine lobster shipped down here two weeks ago, it was 60 bucks a pound delivered. I cant believe that you are getting that kinda quality for 14 bucks a sandwich.

Yeah, there’s a zero percent chance that’s Maine lobster. In Massachusetts you can’t find a lobster roll for less than about $25, no way Louisiana gets them cheaper.

Edit: not to say they still can’t be good, just saying there’s no way it’s Maine lobster.

Me too. And I don’t really like mayo except on a seafood poboy or a BLT.

Holy crap $60/ lb ? The food board Maine lobster guy, lobsterorder.com , went up on his prices a few months ago and I stopped ordering from him. He used to be about $10/ lb delivered and now is still just under $20/lb.
