I've eaten lunch there on a Saturday. I'd assume that holds true during the week as well.

I checked it out a couple weeks ago. It's legit.

Got the Chong Qing chicken and a bowl of hot and sour soup. Chicken is really unique. REALLY good. REALLY REALLY good. Spicy, but not near as spicy as you'd think when you see the plate and all the peppers on it.

Hot and Sour soup was to die for. Really deep flavor. Kinda earthy, but that's always the case. Loved it.

I love the h&s soup at Koi. Hope this ones better. Just wondering about what their lunch menu is like, Koi's lunch is more of a bento box thing, it'd be nice to get a chicken and soup.

Just wanted to add to this thread. Had lunch there today and it was awesome. I had the Kung Pao Chicken and my friend had the Spicy Cuman Beef. Both dishes were excellent. Great service and very reasonably priced. Not much of a crowd there though. 4 tables at noon on a thursday. I really wish word would get out about this place because I'd love to see it succeed.

Hit it up a few weeks ago as well, had the chongqing chicken and cumin pork. Both fantastic, need to get back again soon

Grabbed the same to go 2 weeks ago as per recommendations on here. That food was delicious. I definitely need to get back there soon

Very good Chinese at Omi, it's a shame that the owner(nice guy) is pumping a sushi menu so hard, and basically has much of his chinese fare listed off menu...especially in that already saturated sushi corridor.

Omi, like Dim Sum, is basically shielded, unadvertised, and largely unknown to the BR masses.

Hope that location doesn't bury yet another one.

We've been going there pretty frequently for the past month or two....probably dining or getting take out at least once a week. I really dig the cumin pork and those sweet ribs. They have good crowds there at night.

Restaurants that used to be at the same location on One Calais Ave never did well because of difficulty in getting in and out of One Calais Ave onto Essen Lane

Probably has something to do with the people that owned and leases the property as well

glad theyre representing the chinese menu on there and in their name now. good call for them. if the word gets out about how good the chinese is, they will definitely last there in that shitty location

Will say service can be awkward at times. I guess somewhat expected. Will suggest pointing to what you want as a work around.

Still worth it for the food and they try extremely hard to please.

They could throw a glass of water in my face every time I go and I'd still return for the Chong Qing chicken. But I get what you're saying. Some of the waitresses are a bit awkward. The owner, wife and chef are extremely nice and really go out of their way to make you comfortable.

Excellent food, but ordering can be painful. Every time I've gone, I've had to call over the owner to ask questions about the menu. With no item descriptions and a waitress, bless her heart, that couldn't answer "what beers do you have," it's very difficult to try new things without feeling like you are being a huge inconvenience.

I have been hitting OMI since they first opened. I got word early on that the Koi chef was opeing there.

HUGE HUGE FAN of the spicy cumin pork, cumin chicken and LOVE the sauteed string beans.

They just got the beans back, had about a 4 week run where there were none available in town supposedly.

I sure hope this place makes it in that death hole of a spot. There is never anyone there when I go but I usually go early.
I like how the menu is identical to Koi, but why not since the original chef did the Koi menu.

I think the quality at Koi is the same but the portions have drop just a tad in size it seems.

LOVE OMI, eat it at least 3 times a month.
