I know this has been discussed on here generally, do you have specific examples?
Had a business lunch at Benihana today, and just a normal iced tea was $5.
Yes free refills...but damn.

Fogo de Chao runs specials for $45 full service. That used to just be the standard price
There's entirely too many examples to list

A box combo at Cane's used to be something like $6.75, it's now $10.99, that's over a 50% increase.
ETA: the sub $7 price was around 2010, but even in 2017 it was just a bit over $7.

In general, going out to eat kinda sucks nowadays because unless you are absolutely blown away with your food there's good chance you leave feeling like you wasted your money.
I think the best way to navigate these crazy prices is just stick to the tried and true places and dishes that are hard to frick up and always make you happy.
Deviating from your normal spots and trying unknown menu items feels riskier than ever in this clown economy.

Steak 'n Shake used to be super-cheap... prices over the past year have pretty much doubled

A hard taco at Taco Bell is $1.99. They used to be under $1. Ordering anything from there besides their build a box special at $6.29 is stupid. You can get a Crunchwrap, Cruncy Taco, Chips and Nacho sauce, and a drink for that price. The Crunchwrap by itself is $5.19, which is ridiculous.

Add "Shrinkflation" on top of that, and we're getting screwed.

Yep - everything other than the box special is way higher.
My kid wanted quesadillas from Taco Bell recently. I got her the chicken quesadillas combo, me a 5-layer burrito and 2 orders of nachos (used to be 79 cents and are almost $3 now) and it was $23 or so.

Did you order all of that separately and not order the combo? The combo is like $5 (that's still ridiculous)

Yeah, we go to a place near our house and the 3 of us can eat and get 2 margs during happy hour for less than $30.

My daughter wanted a 6 piece McD nuggets, so I stopped. I decided to get me a simple cheeseburger, not a double or anything, their basic cheeseburger. It is $1.99.

Has anyone noticed the McDonald’s happy meal fries bag? It’s 1 inch wide.

Circa 2014, a pound of 80:20 ground chuck was on sale for $1.99 at HEB. Now it's $3.97/lb.
