I like the Root Beer, but it is sweet.

I've had it on tap at some places in chicago and it's 10%. I think they lowered the octane for the bottled stuff.

I've never once ordered or seen anyone order a bourbon and root beer, vodka and root beer, rum and root beer or any other root beer cocktail. Why? Because they are pretty terrible, that's why.

My local sports bar has it on tap.

I have only had the root beer and only had it once. A gimmick imo. But I bet it'd make a hell of a root beer float.

My wife and I have tried 3 or 4 of the hard root beers, my vote goes to Coney Island and my wife's goes to Not Your Fathers. Neither of us cared for the "Best Damn Root Beer"

Same here, bought a six pack about 6 months ago, drank 1 and a half, the other 4 are still in the back of the fridge. Don't know why, I know I'm not gonna drink them. Now I am kind of interested in the new Best Damn Cherry Cola.

Is that good or bad? I'm assuming it's bad.

Have you never had four loco?! My friend let me tell you about the most intoxicating array of flavors and malts known to mankind. With sweet silky undertones and a robust finish that will leave your mouth watering for more.

Nah, I'm full of shite. Four Loco is 14%, cheap, and good enough ice cold you could stomach chugging the two you bought to get f'd up. If you want to know what BD Cherry Cola tastes like go buy a black cherry four loco. It's cheaper and will get you feeling twice as nice.

It's a good drink, but you need to seriously limit yourself. I've only had it once or twice as a Root Beer float.

This review is far better than mine .

quote:

I figured this would be a good product to start off this blog with since everybody has heard of it and the controversy it stirred a few years back. I used to buy these things all the time when I turned 21 (and before, but that's another story) and even though I don't buy them anymore I absolutely see why they are so popular. At my local packie I can usually get them around $2.50-$3.00 a can which is a steal, especially if you're a lightweight. These things pack a whopping 12% alcohol by volume in a 23.5oz can, which if you are unaware is about 3 times the alcohol and twice the size of your standard bud light. Yup, you heard me right, one of these cans is like drinking a six pack of Coors Light. So if you down three of these bad boys in a night, you're looking at approximately 17 or 18 beers at less than half the cost. I don't know about you, but that's enough to get me going. Unfortunately, there's a price to pay for this cheap booze, it tastes miserable. Fortunately the good makers of Four Loko have put out a variety of "flavors" for you to try. Fair warning: none of them are particularly good, really what you want to find is a flavor that is somewhat tolerable. After all, after the first one who cares what it tastes like? You've got the equivalent of a 6 pack in you, and we all know that taste doesn't really matter after that. That being said, watermelon and blue raspberry are the ones I can pretty much pound down without my taste buds wondering if they are being subjected to some kind of medieval torture.
