So looking to get a Christmas gift and was going to get one or the other but if I can get them both with $150 or less with decent/good quality I would prefer that.

Yea I know I am a cheap bastard, if it's not possible then please suggest some quality options.

How large a cutting board do you want? Which item do you think is more important to the gift recipient?

I’d rather receive one gift of high quality than two gifts of lesser quality.

Buy a Boo’s cutting board and spend whatever is left on a nonstick. You’ll never have to replace the cutting board with proper upkeep. Even the best nonsticks only last a few years, depending on how much you use it

Why not just give a gift card and let them pick it out.....

What size? Does it have to be non-stick or can it be a nice stainless?

Get either Boos for the cutting board or go to Etsy and find a nice mixed wood end grain cutting board. That would make it a little more personal at least instead of just getting whatever the big name block of the day is.

The best non-stick pan I've ever had (that isn't a well-seasoned cast iron pan) is hands down a SCANPAN CTX that I bought from the Blue Apron store. Coating has been durable, and it has more cooking surface than comparably nominally sized offerings from other companies I've used. Problem is with regards to your original post is that it torpedoes your budget coming in at $399 now (I'm 100% sure I didn't pay near that much when I bought mine 5 or 6 years ago). They do also have an anodized non-stick version that goes for $179 (CTX is brushed SS on the outside) - not cheap, but I buy good cookware and use it, so I expect it to last, which this one has stayed in excellent shape.

Oxo good grips non-stick continually wins in the Cooks Illustrated tests, and I have a medium sized one of those that has been with me for a long time, and the lining is starting to flake a bit. Worth the $30 or so bucks I paid for it on sale though. I think I have a 10" version.

I don't have a high dollar cutting board, just an end grain no name maple board that I oil when it gets dry and it has served me admirably for a lot of years.

We have ScanPans and like them. You can find them on sale regularly (or you previously could).

Oxo nonstick skillet has lasted me over 5 years and it was like 40-50 bucks. Should leave plenty of cash left over for a nice cutting board.

I bought this fry pan a while back, on the recommendation of someone here on the FDB. So far the wife (no pics), and I have been really pleased with the performance.

Make a cutting board? I am making 3 Maple/Walnut boards for gifts with real breadboard ends. Not everything has to be end grain.
