11 year anniversary is this weekend. Curious who has been out to eat since things got back going and how it was overall. Right now we're looking at either Gianna, Josephine Estelle, GW Fins (ate takeout here a few times in COVID), Jack Rose, Peche, or Saffron.

Any other suggestions or feedback on those?

ETA: Wife just informed me she is leaning towards Italian.

Peche

Ate Peche for lunch not this past Saturday but the Saturday before that. Very good as always.

I’ve been to both Peche and Saffron since places allowed people to dine in. Wear a mask when you enter and walk to your table is their only rule. Out the two I prefer Saffron, Pork Vindaloo is one of my favorite dishes in the city.

Went to GWfins on Saturday. It was spectacular. It slowly moving to the very top of my Nola restaurant lists.

It is our GO-TO, but that's the problem. We always go to it. We have so many of those custom Birthday and Anniversary menus that they print out for you. Lol.

I think the wife is leaning towards Italian. I should probably change the title to help pick b/t the two I listed.

I have had Peche since the reopening and it was absolutely great. A lot of places are opening up just check OpenTable or Resy.

I like Saffron as well, although I do like Peche better. Very different places.

I am not a GW Fins fan at all personally but I know I'm in the minority.

I've had Peche and Gianna. Both were great. I also went to Annunciation and had an excellent meal, but it was dead in there. I don't know how a place can make it like that.

Gianna

Kinda leaning here but I did see that Josephine Estelle had Cacio e Pepe. I've been longing for that done correctly since being in Rome a few years ago.

The cacio e pepe at JE is definitely not as good as in Rome and I've had both

I like JE though. I thought Gianna was a little better.

I was also at GW Fins Sat night. It was exceptional, and felt relatively normal because it is a big space and 50% full was a decent amount of people. Get the whole fried snapper appetizer.

Also an excellent place. That I went two weeks ago and was excellent. The focaccia portion they give you is enormous.

I feel like I take crazy pills with GW Fins because everyone likes it but I think its so goddamn boring. Maybe its just not for me.

It is a HUGE space so that is good in this situation. Josphine Estelle and Peche are also big spaces

Does everyone think that Gianna is generally good to very good and intimate enough for a wedding anniversary?

Yep was at Costera about a week ago and it was great. Their gin and house made tonic was incredible. I am still thinking about it.
