Good read. Thanks for the link.

quote:

A typical evening for Ella Brennan begins with cocktails. They are delivered from Commander’s Palace, her family’s restaurant next door to her mansion in this city’s historic Garden District.

Drinks are often followed by dinner, also from Commander’s, and wine. Ms. Brennan favors Champagne and distinguished whites from the Côte de Beaune because, as she puts it, “I’m too damn old to drink cheap wine” and “because I can.”

She has it figured out.

And we can look forward to "the documentary 'Ella Brennan: Commanding the Table,' [that] will be available on Netflix in May."

Thanks Gris Gris.. Very nice.. I love that in the dinner party photograph, they're being served bread pudding soufflé.

Some of the comments underneath the article are funny.. and obviously heartfelt.

I still think Commander's is the ONE restaurant in the city everyone needs to eat at at least once.

The documentary hits Netflix in May, for those interested. The trailer looks awesome.

I'm looking forward to the documentary. Oh, the life this woman has lead and the people she's been around. She worked hard and now, she's getting to enjoy the fruits of her labor in spite of her age. She's truly a character and she was some smart. Still is.
