My small electric smoker (fit on my apartment balcony years ago) has finally stopped working and looking to get a new one now.

Fine with another electric or not, I can do either. Just looking for recommendations big enough for a family of 4 with occasionally doing groups up to around 10-12.

Space for it isn't an issue like it used to be. Price can be pretty much whatever as long as it's worth it. Typically do brisket, ribs, chicken wings, etc...

Anyone have a smoker they love? Any brands to avoid? Any/all advice would be appreciated.

If price is no option, I’d get a 94 Gal Mill scale w/ firebox plancha.

Is it really worth $5k though? Not saying it isn't, just legitimately not sure any backyard smoker is worth $5k

I got a ZGrill Pellet Smoker from Menards for Christmas and really like it so far. I did a Brisket on it today and it came out excellent, everything I've cooked on it so far has come our really nice.

If you want a stick burner look into Country Built Smokers (Allen's Welding and Working on YouTube) out of Slaughter, LA. I would only buy something he already has built though. He fricked my buddy on a built to order unit.

I really like the Gateway drum smoker. It cooks “hot and fast”. Did a 8 lb pork butt yesterday in 6 hours. Great BBQ flavor with the juices dropping right on the coals.

I live near there and have never heard of them. Have to check him out

I use a large big green egg and it’s perfect for smoking/grilling or any type of cooking. I’d get the XL size.

I have a G2 Chubby with a 9lb Butt in it right now. It is 10 years old. only thing Imhave done to it was add wheels when I got it. Lots of cooking room for a small footprint. Holds temps great and doesn’t use a ton of coal.Butt has been on 12 hrs now and I have used a basket and a half of Lump. I use it for everything but Poultry. I still use my 13yr old WSM 22 for that.

A great value backyard stick burner is an Old Country Brazos from Academy. 1/4” steel but for 1/4 the price of your big custom built smokers. Plenty of room for a couple briskets or pork butts.

$1,199 LINK

I’ve loved the results from mine.
