Just hype for the most part but both of those would sell very well here.

I agree. They are good beers that are very approachable for the masses. Not everybody is going to like a double ipa. But most everybody I know will drink a Shiner Bock.

Yeah, rangers no good.

That super ipa from the lips of faith was pretty damn good though.

If anything, maybe it'll light a fire under Abita's arse to get with the prgoram.

Yeah... right.

If anything the emergence of NOLA, Parish, and even Tin Roof should have lit a fire under their arse, but no.

Anyway, this isn't an Abita bashing thread... I'll be excited if we get the Lips of Faith beers, other than that I can't see reaching for many New Belgium beers.

Super IPA is good. But I give credit to Alpine who collaborated on that beer.

i run into people often thatll say i wish we had fat tire here or yuengling. I just dont understand the infatuation with average beers.

Most of my experience with people like that are people in Louisiana who want to sound like they like a different beer than what is available. "Hey, look at me. I've traveled across a state line before and I really want a beer that makes me feel cooler than other people."

That being said, I'll tear up some cold cans of Fat Tire out on the lake on a hot day.

And Lips of Faith

How long until Abita and New Belgium collaborate? Really similar processes.

Have not had any of their seasonal beers. But am looking forward to the Lips of Faith series in LA.

I agree.

But, I find NB products to be a good value. I really enjoy a lot of their products at their price point.

I have a feeling this will only amplify the "oh my god, I love Fat Tire" comments from that crowd though. .

"I want a Fat Tire."

"Sorry, they don't sell that in Louisiana."

"Oh, really? Well, it's like the bestest beer. When I lived in Austin [for only a few weeks because the internship at that vintage clothing store didn't work out] that's all we drank. Like seriously, they have a bike on it. Bikes are cool."

I get it. You want me to think you're cultured because you know what Fat Tire is.

Me too, but I can't remember the last time I ordered it.

It will hit LA like Canebrake did.

well, yeah. If I ordered it, it was because I really wanted a beer, not liquor, and it's all they had other than BMC.

worse than that, I can't stand when a server compares another craft beer to Fat Tire because it's the only craft beer he/she knows.

"So, how is your dunkelweizen?"

"Have you ever had Fat Tire? It's kinda like that!"

eh, I don't get bent out of shape about people thinking beers like Fat Tire are the bomb.com

I mean its a drinkable amber and it beats BMC...I'm not enthralled with the lineup at NB but have had a few of there offerings. My wife's favorite beer is 1554.

If it gets people to move their beer needle a bit and move them into the direction of trying new styles, I'm all for it.

I've sipped MANY different beers from California to Louisiana...even went to Belgium this summer and went to a beer tasting venue. I can tell you that I think Fat Tire is one of the smoothest tasting beers ever. I don't like hoppy beer much at all. So many Marzens and Oktoberfest beers still have more hop than I like. Fat Tire is a great smooth sipping beer. I LOVE IT.
I also really like their Sunshine.

This is great news!!!
