I'm doing a variety of sliders at my house this weekend and one will be a shrimp po'boy slider. It will have fried shrimp and spicy mayo on it for sure. One recipe i found has a traditional cabbage slaw on it but I thought about making a salad with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced pickles and some the spicy mayo instead of the slaw. What yall think will go better?

I think the second would be good minus the tomatoes

The lettuce will get soggy quicker- I think both will be delicious. If you do the slaw, make it the night before so the cabbage will soften up a little.

I’d prefer the cabbage slaw if it were me. I dont think the idea of mixing chopped lettuce tomato and pickle all together would work out too well.

I wouldn't make a salad with the shredded lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. I'd just add them. I guess you could toss them, but without any other ingredient. Shredded iceberg holds up reasonably well if you don't use a lot of the soft greener parts.

If you put tomatoes on a shrimp slider it's not a shrimp slider. Might be good, but it's not a shrimp slider.

Slaw. Something similar to Pikliz or you can get really creative.

We do a jerk chicken taco with a slaw that includes shredded red & green cabbage, fine julienne poblano pepper, red bell pepper, jicama, & julienne white onion. The acid is 50/50 rice wine vinegar & lime juice with just enough sugar to alleviate the sourness. Might work well with shrimp.

Are you saying no sliders can have tomatoes and be sliders lol? Shrimp po'boys have tomatoes so that's why I included them

What’s the definition of a slider? Meat and cheese with condiments only?

I'd stick with cabbage slaw. I make this slaw for fish tacos and everyone loves it. For a shrimp slider I may would leave out the cilantro.
1/2 head Cabbage, Sliced Thin
1/2 head Purple Cabbage, Sliced Thin
1 whole Jalapeno, Halved Lengthwise And Thinly Sliced
1/2 c. Whole Milk
1/2 c. Mayonnaise
1 tsp. White Vinegar
1 Tbsp. Sugar
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
2 c. Cilantro Leaves, Barely Chopped
This is a pioneer woman recipe for pork butt sandwiches.

Remoulade sauce with the slaw would be pretty good.

See any gumbo or jmbalaya thread. No reason, it just is.
