I'm in Baton Rouge visiting family this weekend. Looking for a good grab and go poboy somewhere in the Airline @Highland area. I've had Jazz daddy's and was hoping for an upgrade. Prob going for a shrimp poboy but who knows

Best Shrimp Poboy in Baton Rouge is at LD Seafood in the strip mall by Allstar Ford and Winn Dixie. You won't think so when you walk in and order but you will thank me after you pay your $6 and take a bite. If you must pay $12 for one KC's is the next best in Baton Rouge. The Chimes puts ketchup on there's. Lol.

Eliza makes a killer poboy. Fresh ingredients and use Leidenheimer bread. Highly recommend.

I hate the fact that I like it, but Sammy's grilled shrimp po-boy is weirdly good.

Had the barbecue shrimp poboy at Chimes twice. First time, I thought it was the best thing I've ever had. Second time was pretty meh.

Ended up ordering from KC's last night - location was the biggest factor. The fried shrimp were a definite upgrade from Jazz Daddy's, and the bread was some of the best I've had on a poboy. Consistency was a little off. I thought mine was a little under filled but my wife's looked better.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

I've never gotten ketchup on a poboy at Chimes. But I usually get roast beef or blackened alligator on a poboy there.

Me and the wife had dinner at the Coursey location 5-6 months ago and I ordered a fried shrimp poboy and it definitely had ketchup on it. Kind of ruined it for me. Had I known I would have ordered it without. Who puts ketchup on a shrimp poboy?

I do sometimes at the table, but I'd never order it that way.

I always ask first before ordering to assure I have a chance to get it the way I like it.

What is also aggravating is some places overload a poboy or burger with what you do want presumably making up for what you left off.
