My dad ate Limburger Cheese. It smelled like sneakers that hadn't been washed in 20 years. I don't even know if stores still sell that crap.
Yes they do sell it still. I bought some to see what the hype was about. I have to say, if your's only smelled like sneakers that hadn't been washed in 20 years, you got the "light" version. What I got smelled like a dead body with notes of dogshit, and I am in no way exaggerating. It was horrendous. Apparently the longer it stays in it's package, the nastier it gets. Of course I saved it in a sealed bag in my freezer and break out a piece every now and then as a gag.

There were bowls and bowls of "ambosia" being served in the 70's. Every potluck supper seemed to have 3 or 4 different offerings of ambrosia.
Oh yeah, and Mom loved to serve us pineapple and mayonaise salads, with velveeta cheese grated on top.

So do I. I buy it to make gravy with when I fry cube steak, and I drink the rest. I don't like regular milk, but I do like buttermilk.

I had to shoot a few squirrels in chest to save the heads for my grandparents. I don't know what all they pulled out and ate when we slaughtered an animal, but I know the hearts, liver kidneys, brains and some other glands.

I hesitated to use that description for fear that some poster would say "And when did you ever smell a dead body covered in dog shite?"

My grandparents eat lots of root veggies. Rutabaga is my grandfather's favorite.

We had a fig tree in our back yard when I was a kid. Loved picking figs and eating them. But the damn blue jays would get 70 percent. Jays wouldn't even eat the whole fig. Just half of it. Always hated Blue Jays since then. Got a yard full of Cardinals and they respect my garden.

Mustard Greens. My grandmother (RIP) would boil that shite in the house and we'd all have to evacuate. Smelled like the paper-mill in Bogalusa.
