I wish.
I work in fine wine so I get to drink a lot of stuff I wouldn’t normally be buying regularly.

Get on the list. I think I paid about 140 for my allotment of MB this year.
Downside is you're buying like 2 years before the wine will be ready and you'll probably be waiting another 10 before you open one

So you get on some allocation list? Did you get the 2020 or something?
Got the Three Valley Ridge. I was shocked it only cost $21 at total wine. I'll definitely run through all their blends they are all pretty reasonable price wise.

That's a good price from TW, at least to me. Our Total Wines around here aren't very good for pricing.
Yeah, it's a Monte Bello collectors list. You get on it by signing up and buying the estate wines every year (although I think you can get on it without buying them if you email them). FWIW I think the estate wines are really good in their own right and they're always very well reviewed.
I do a handful of allocation lists but none are as worthwhile for savings off retail as Ridge.

I almost thought it was the wrong blend because it was way under the price on Vivino and they quote the average case price per unit. They have the Geyserville that's rated pretty high I'll have to try.

Geyserville is my favorite.
The only Ridge I haven't really liked is the East Bench

2016 Phantom at Costco for $15.74
Best deal in town (other than the ones I want to mention).

I’m on Del Dotto, Jarvis, and Darioush lists.

Do you have a link to the Ridge Zin. Always looking for a good Zin. Had a trip to Paso and Sonoma last year. Had Seghesio which was decent and a couple from Deerfield Ranch (ivey glen was spectacular).

Ridge Winery
Seghesio has some premium zins I haven't had but their entry level is alright. Probably too much for the price. I've seen Turley advertised as good quality but I've never tried it.

Just curious. I’m a total wine slut.....what makes the bogle petit syrah so good? Is it that much better than their merlot or Pinot?
Posted on 8/25/20 at 3:28 pm to tilco
I bought it because they were drooling over it, I'm testing their pallets tonight

Petite sirah is a very flavorful grape so as a varietal, it’s bolder and sweeter than others. A lot of wineries (Dave Phinney/Orin Swift and Michael David) blend it into their cabs and red blends to give them that “big bold red” characteristic. A lot of people will love it because it is big and a little sweet.

My go-to Cabs have been Bonanza and Franciscan. Both $21

Thanks. I picked up a bottle today to try tonight. I find myself liking the red blends that say they have big flavor.

Update: tried it on your recommendation this weekend. Really enjoyed it.

Perhaps even more importantly, the land petitie sirah is grown on is cheaper than the land pinot noir is grown on. It costs less to produce petite sirah in California, and petite sirah is not as "sexy" as pinot noir in marketing terms, and thus costs less to sell. The Bogle Petite Sirah is an excellent wine that can be consistenly found for under $10. Other than the 2015 Line 39 Pinot Noir, I can't remember the last time I tasted an under $20 pinot that was worth a damn.

Yeah I’m not a huge Pinot guy. The Del Dotto Pinot from Cinghiale and Three Amigos from Sinskey are 2 of my favorites both well north of $20

You pretty much have to get lucky with cheap pinots. I've found a couple in the $15 range but when you've had expensive pinot it makes you not want to buy it.
