Do these ugly bastards make good table fare? There are now close to 20 of these things taking up residence around my pond. I'm about to start putting the 10/22 to work but I don't want to just toss them after I kill them if they're worth putting in the freezer.

muscovy (or a muscovy hybrid) is what you get when you order duck in a restaurant

One of the best meals you can have

Yeah they serve them in nice restaurants.
If you’ve had domestic duck before it’s a good chance youve eaten one

Sounds like it's time to cull a few.

You have a nice size raft that, if managed properly, can occupy sufficient freezer space for years to come.

Fantastic!
I love it seasoned and seared.
Some of the best.

Thanks for all the responses! I see medium rare pan seared duck breast in my near future.

don't neglect the legs. they lend well to canning.

Some of the best. I hunted in Nicaragua a few times and knocked a few down.
Our bird boys were shitting themselves. First because they aren’t legal to shoot. They aren’t very plentiful down there. And they are 5x bigger than the other ducks.
When the guide came to pick us up they were motioning to shush as they stuffed it in their bag.
The next morning they looked at me rubbing their bellies. “Pato Royal.”

I may swerve a little to the right some as I approach Prescott and Horseshoe. Those dumb bastards almost never move.
