Burned sugar and vegetable juice. I wonder who ever thought up that idea. I also wonder why anyone would put that in food?

Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs

<--ducks and runs

Maybe not so much when they first came out, but now you can find them almost year round in some shape--hearts, pumpkins, Christmas trees.

Also, panko bread crumbs.

Lobster, Caviar, and Crawfish all seem like reasonable answers to me. I also agree that bacon isn't overrated, but bacon wrapped is.

I've already blasphemed with crawfish, might as well go all the way. Gumbo is very overrated. And again overrated =/= bad.

good point.

I've had this discussion so many times over the years on many different topics. People assume that if you say something is overrated you are saying it is bad.

On the other hand, I've never heard corn syrup rated very highly, so I wonder how it is overrated.

I think vinigrette is overrated

maybe.. but a vinaigrette is the most essential and versatile salad dressing in the food kingdom.. to say all vinaigrette is overrated is like saying tomato sauce is overrated.. the varities are infinite.

Foie Gras.

I don't care that they're force feeding the poor geese or anything, I just don't really see what the big deal is about this as a product. It's not that I don't like liver, either.

Siriacha Sauce

Not a huge fan either. It's OK, but that's about it.

Can't believe people think Chipotle pepper is overrated. Nothing better in BBQ rub or wing sauce than fresh chipotles that are smoked/dried and run through a coffee grinder. Maybe some BS chipotle sauce made by a vendor or restaurant, but not the pepper itself.
