May have been my favorite thing

Model Bakery is so good. We started every day there.

Farther down the road just look at the show Chopped. They let race and status get in the way of the show

On the New Orleans episode, they let the ya ka mein lady win even though her food obviously wasn't as good. Instead of giving the 10k to the person with the best food, we have to give it to the old black lady that serves shitty noodle bowls in the ghetto because yea

I remember that episode and it was 100% fixed for her. the judges were all crying when Ms Linda told her Katrina story. Not trying to knock her or her food but Justin Kennedy of Parkway was another contestant and there wasn’t any mention of the fact that Parkway flooded to the roof during Katrina and it’s a miracle it’s still there. It didn’t help that Justin fricked up a dish royally but there was zero chance anyone but Linda yakamein lady was winning

It has literally infected the industry, it’s disgusting. And much like in academia and politics, it’s a product of the media pushing the agenda.

It’s pretty sad too, like picking the retard first for dodgeball just to make him feel better. I just can’t imagine having such a lack of self awareness to not see that’s what’s happening. These idiots actually think the awards they receive are based on merit.

And of course you have morons like mouton who get offended if you even mention that this could be the case and carry water for the assholes who push this bullshite.

Mouton, I have not been to Prohibition in Charleston when it’s a restaurant but I had been when it turns into a bar. Good lord the talent in that place. Drinks were good too.

Charleston, SC.

Only memorable thing I've eaten there was the corn bread at Edmund's Oast. Lewis BBQ and Swig-n-Swine are solid BBQ joints.

And we thought it was fantastic. Magnolia's was one of top 5 meals I've had in a while. That being said i love low country food.

It is similar to Cajun cuisine.

Still waiting for your answer . Surely you aren’t claiming she won a Janes Beard award just because she is black without actually having had her food right???

For what it was touted to be, BR was overrated.

Who touts the BR restaurant scene!? New Orleans is known for its food. Baton Rouge has a reputation for chain restaurants. BR has a horrible food reputation in South Louisiana, and is underrated as a result (there's a few gems here and there). Overall, whoever led you to believe that Baton Rouge, LA was a food mecca either lied to you or sent you to The Pastime, George's, and Fleur de lis. My whole schtick on this board is "Baton Rouge isn't THAT bad..." That's how awful Baton Rouge's reputation is.

Santa Fe.

Believe me, I enjoy visiting for work, as there’s great craft beers available in that area, and the food is good.

But it’s not some culinary city of food paradise like you hear on TV or read in publications.

Where are you eating? Santa Fe has some incredible spots: Geronimo, The Pantry, Sazon, Clafoutis, Cafe Pasqual, Tomasitas, The Shed, Shake Foundation ...

Not even sure how a city this large can be categorized as "overrated."
