Who rates any Texas city highly for food? If anything, they're underrated.

I feel like Houston and Austin get pub

Dallas doesn't really, which is why it definitely isn't overrated (and similar to Atlanta in that way).

Nashville, everywhere seemed to be bragging about farm to table or super fresh local ingredients, but I didn't find anything that great. Hot Chicken is the only thing that impressed me

I've had some exceptional meals in Nashville, and love the vibe so that enhances the experience for me. I just really like that city.

Catbird Seat, the hot chicken joints, Sinema, Peg Leg BBQ, Two Ten Jack, Adele's.

I don't think they have their own cuisine really, but I do think they have good food spots for sure

Pecan Lodge is the best BBQ I've ever had. Way better than anything I've had in Houston or ATX

Napa

In what respect? Every where I ate in Napa valley was top notch. I am including the whole valley and not just Napa city.

Santa Fe.

Believe me, I enjoy visiting for work, as there’s great craft beers available in that area, and the food is good.

But it’s not some culinary city of food paradise like you hear on TV or read in publications.

I was going to pots basically this exact comment. Everything I had, from many price points, was great. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was honestly.

So for me the list is Chicago and Nashville. Both have great food, but I don't consider Deep dish pizza, steak houses, etc. to be a food city.

Yeah... there's a lot more to Chicago than this...

DC isn't a 'food' mecca that other metro areas are, but man was i disappointed in their food scene

We just left(y) Seattle and would not call it overrated including eating here with Curry Rockfish and spicy beef cheeks with noodles. Was outstanding

Savannah is a good one, actually. It's certainly fine, but not worthy of the company it's often placed in.

Savannah is not a very big city. For a city it's size it has an incredible concentration of quality restaurants.

I never here much of austin food. I feel Houston gets hype but that's themselves hyping it up.

I think Atlanta is better, but both are great and underrated. Atlanta's international options are better.

I agree with Savannah. Granted, it's not huge but many people and websites/magazines are painting it to be Charleston in the food sense and it's not there yet. Many good places, but not nearly the quality and variety found in Charleston (since that is what most compare it to).

Nashville for all the reasons most people have already mentioned.

The more multi ethnic or international a city is, the better food scene it will have.

I've never eaten in washington dc for instance but i would think the food scene there would be pretty good.

This reminds me though of something I heard once. If you want good chinese outside the country of China itself, you have to go to New York.
