Most legit Cajun food outside of LA? (I found it in Omaha!!!)

I hit up a local Cajun restaurant in Omaha on a whim last night, since I was stuck behind an accident for over an hour. It was LEGIT the best meal I've ever had -- portions were big, prices super reasonable, and the staff was FANTASTIC. I was back in Lafayette 2 weeks ago and ate at Fezzo's... this blew it out of the water. If you're in Omaha for CWS, live here as an "ex-pat", or know any of the alumni up here, you've GOT to tell them about Acadian Grille. The owners (Tim and Dan O'Brien) gave me like 10 different samples of dishes (and a hurricane!) to get my Cajun opinion -- they were all to die for, super authentic, and had some serious kick. You won't be sorry!
Any other TD peeps find a good Cajun restaurant outside of Louisiana?

How long have you managed this place?

Did you pay chicken for this advertisement?

Cluckster? Sorry, I'm a nube... I guess I never factored in that this could be misconstrued as an advertisement. It was just a great meal on a crappy night. :-)

You mean you didn't think we'd all notice it was an ad when you signed up today just to post about your restaurant?

Maybe it was more sentimental and they blessed you with free samples that made it better than any other Cajun restaurant in South Louisiana?

You're so hilariously off-base, but frick you just the same, troll.

You certainly are getting very angry and defensive for someone who isn't getting caught shamelessly plugging his own restaurant.

Sorry dude. Anyone who so excitedly praises a place then ends with this gem is most certainly somehow involved with the restaurant.

Quick look at online pics do look very good, shameless plug or not.

It’s really odd. Another user with very few posts created a thread about the same restaurant a couple of weeks ago. Pay for advertising, you cheap bastards.

How long can they stay open if they give 10 different samples to get people’s opinion.

Curious to know if the owners are from Louisiana.

South MS and AL mostly, both of these are far more Cajun that anything north of I10 in LA, the Acadians were not bound by current state lines.
Neither did they invent most foods associated with them today, they simply started eating what the other poor folks did when they got there.
They simply had the best publicist.

I always get a kick out of people that "can't find this food outside of XXXX place". As if people from XXXX couldn't have possibly relocated to where ever you are and start a restaurant making whatever XXXX was known for?
I had some spectacular southern style BBQ in Salt Lake City, UT. Owner was from Georgia or somewhere like that. Great Louisiana styled place in Bessemer, AL. Owners relocated here after Katrina.

It’s less about the ability of a cook to do it and more about the ability of a business to stay in operation appealing to Cajun tastes when they’re not frequented by Cajuns.
