Griffin Grill

Down the street from my hacienda. Good burgers in a pinch, best in the area by far. At least they are real meat and cooked to order.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I always enjoyed the burger at Capitol City Grill.

But it's been 4-5 years since I've had one, so for all I know it's gone way downhill.

I find the Mooyah by Cabela's is much better than the one on Siegen. The sweet potato fries with honey are awesome.

Philay's in Gonzales is one of my favorite burgers "in town" it's a good sized, homemade patty with good flavor and it's on a sourdough bun. Griffin Grill is pretty good also.

I've had it within the last year. It was nothing to write home about. Would just as soon have had Backyard Burger or Freddy's. Probably the best burger I've had recently was at Your Mom's, who also make a mean margarita.

That's a shame. Capitol City used to be a go to lunch spot for me whenever I worked downtown.

I've never eaten at Mooyah, because I don't want to be bothered by the owner while i'm eating. He says in the commercials that he likes to bother the customers.

Haven't had that one, may have to try.

In AP, for me, the best burgers are Griffin Grill and honestly Sno's burger is fricking solid.

Does he really say that?

I noticed the service at the Siegen location dropped way off when he stopped running the kitchen himself.

I hardly ever get anything else because it is on of my favorites. Everything else is good there also.

Pro tip: get the sweet potato fries with the burger and ask for a cup of the praline sauce they use on the bread pudding.

He says his favorite thing is to go out and talk to the customers while they are eating. I guess to each his own. I like good food and to relax when Im eating.

It wouldnt be a huge deal, but I would shoo him away pretty quickly.

Well it's not fast food though. These places are usually made to order. There is a diff in quality of ingredients.

Why these places take longer.

My order sat for a few minutes while several confused looking workers kept walking by it, and other orders that were ready. They weren't that busy.

The workers did manage to scream out their annoying welcoming though every time someone entered. That greeting that they all are required to do is a stupid annoying thing to do.
