Gumbo ya ya is money, BBQ shrimp too. Really just those two things make it one of my favorite places in NO.

echo the sentiments. Not the best restaurant in town, but can;t go wrong with Gumbo Yaya and BBQ Shrimp there

Gumbo ya ya is 1/2 brown water, 1/2 rice. BBQ shrimp are passable.

The brunch is on point, never been for dinner.

Mister B's gets brushed off a lot because it isn't one of the cool, new trendy restaurants in Nola but don't let that keep you away. They are serving up some delicious good. As others have said, barbecue shrimp and gumbo ya ya are both very legit.

It's not outstanding overall. I ate here again in June. BBQ shrimp were excellent as was the dynamite pecan pie. I've always enjoyed my meals there and I very much enjoy the atmosphere.
It's pretty loud when busy so if you're looking for quiet and romantic, it's not your place.

Agree. It's due for a face lift. Starting to look like a Bennigan's.

End the meal with a Brandy Milk Punch.

And if the bartender don't know how to make a drink you request, they can get nasty.

I had this same thought. Couldn't put my finger on it but you nailed it with the Bennigans look. Soft shell crabs have always been good. They serve a great oyster soup at Christmas time.
