The list for Houston is quite lazy.

It's all over the place. Some of the Bib Gourmands are hilarious.

Great...it's hard enough to find fricking parking at this place as it is.

Try Banh Somtum. Great Thai boat noodles and Laos Sausage. Prices are cheap as hell too.

not even including Franklin's, is an absolute disgrace.

Meh...Interstellar & La BBQ are both better than Franklin. I've not been to LeRoy and Lewis yet, but have heard great things.

Franklin is still really good, but it has been living off of 10 years ago for 10 years now.

Franklin's isn't exactly overrated but there are lots of other bbq places that are just as good for the average eater.

Thanks to Franklin. He was the pioneer everyone copied.

These lists are always crazy. They choose 1% of the cities restaurants and then grade just those.

You should see the money that’s exchanged during these processes. A Freakonomics podcast I heard last year explained it. Texas paid them over 1m just to come and review here lol.

The one Dallas restaurant is good but they named 20 others that just missed and half of those are better than the one that got the star.

Not denying that. Many, if not most, of the top tier bbq crowd learned there. At one point, Franklin was THE place to go in Austin. That's living in the past. He raised the bar but it's crowded at the top now and others are innovating.

Loro's been mentioned and it's great food. Allowed Franklin an opportunity to do some different stuff, very successfully.

Not knocking him or the food. He trained a ton of great cooks who now challenge him. Never met him but I'd think that's something to be proud of.

what is crazy to me is that they couldn't find one taqueria that was worth mentioning.

Or Rosie cannonball getting a nod over Tiny champions

The indians are probably happy Aga's wasn't on there
