Meat Grinder Recommendations

Need a meat grinder. Who’s bought one between $100-150 that is great quality and easy to clean. Will be used to grind deer and beef and make small batches of sausage.

I bought a stainless steel LEM #10 hand crank meat grinder/stuffer a few years ago and it has served me well.
The big thing about grinding the meat is to have it very cold and I put mine in the freezer to get almost to where it starts to really firm up to grind.
I did eventually buy a designated sausage stuffing machine that is also hand cranked. It holds 7 lbs. of stuffing and comes with 4 different tubes for different size casings. It is so much easier to use then the LEM #10 for stuffing the casings. I know I paid just over $100 for the stuffer and under $100 for the grinder, but have made up that cost in savings alone.
I make a lot of pork based sausages and buy the cryovac 2 packs of pork butts when they go on sale for $.99 a lb. at Rouses.

You're going to get junk at that price range.

Get a Kitchen Aid mixer with the meat grinder attachment. I've been using that for years without any problems.

That’s what I just got. Wife got it for me before I could tell her what I wanted. Used it once and like it but I don’t know if I was trying to do a whole deer or a ton or sausage. For the 3 lbs I tried it worked like a charm. I already had the mixer.

I have a .35hp LEM, it is more than your price range, but it will eat through meat as fast as you can feed it

I have this one and has been a champion. I imagine in commercial use the motor would burn up but is great for 5-20 lbs per go. As others have said keep everything super cold. Buy a separate, purpose-made sausage stuffer.

EDIT: Amazon says I purchased in 2012, still going strong

For home use a basic meat grinder is all you need. Skimp in the grinder and spend on a stand alone stuffer if you going tk be stuffing a lot of sausage.
They on sale NOW.

I had the KitchenAid attachment and figured out it wasn't going to cut it but couldn't justify spending $300 on one. I got the LEM Mighty Bite from Amazon, around $120 I think. I've ground entire briskets and Chuck roasts for burgers and it never checked up. I have been pleasantly satisfied with it.

I got the flyer in today's paper and it is not showing pork butts on sale. The biggest thing they have on sale as far as meat are whole chickens at $.67 a lb. which is a very good price.
My wife picked up a 16 lb. whole rump roast Sunday for $1.99 a lb. and I've already cut it up to use for beef based dishes and a couple roasts.

Take that with a grain of salt, that's coming from my wife. She may be looking at the sale paper from 3 weeks ago.
