Despite being so far past, the appearance wasn't terrible and it actually tasted pretty good.

Just got my 800 put together and was searching if there were any mods that are popular. Found this site that makes mods for all the gravity series models. I'm thinking about getting the manifold cover for ease of cleaning.

I bought this guys because I liked his vent mod better, makes cleaning a lot easier for sure. I also tested his fan protector slide.

Welp used my 560 for the first time after seasoning. Worked great for about 2 minutes, then the temperature started dropping and the fan would not come on. So after only seasoning and 2 minutes, something already has to be fixed.

Probably a switch, disconnect the wires from the controller going to the switches and jumper it at the controller.

If it's that, then you just need to figure out which switch. Then contact MB for a replacement.

Do you have a new one or an old one?

Does if have the new style ash grate?

If it doesn’t say open on the controller check the ash bin switch. You can open the door and push it in to see if the fan comes on. It might just need adjustment. There are nuts on the latch’s so the door closes tighter. Might not be engaging the switch.

Or it might be broke…thanks chynah

Used my rotisserie for the first time with a basket for wangz. I had some issues and they wound up over done. I unplugged the whole thing putting the bag of charcoal on down on the wire I also had issues with my ash bin door switch. I have had that issue before but I haven’t tried tightening down the clamp yet. They looked great but they over did before I checked the temp

Not sure if it the new model, I'll check the ash grate later. I just went plug it in and turn it on and the fan immediately worked. So now I know the fan isn't broken. Must be a switch or maybe the extension cord?

More than likely the switch. I checked with my MB rep to see if there was a number change that shows it’s a new version but there is not. They said all the units they been shipping this year have been the new versions.

Nice looking wings NOLAGT.

Where did you get the basket?

I'd say switch too.

For me, everything worked great the night I put it all together. That weekend when I went to season, same thing as you the fan wouldn't kick on. After fooling with it, the ash bin door wasn't closing enough to trip the switch. MB was quick to send me out another switch.

Instead of switching it out, I just took a felt sticky that you put on furniture legs so they don't scratch the floor on the contact point on the door. This pressed the switch down enough to trip the switch and now I have a spare switch if I ever need it.

Also, the post with the rotisserie basket and wings is making me think I need that now.

The basket I borrowed from a buddy that I sold him a primo rotisserie setup. It’s all universal so I’m going to order myself one. I saw some that looked to be Teflon coated so I’m going to investigate dat.

The MB rotisserie comes with the spikes for chicken, roast and the likes. It’s also universal for the 560,1050, and I’m assuming the 800.

Buddy is doing some thighs tonight in that basket on his primo…looking forward to seeing how that goes. I’d assume excellent.

BallsEleven you in the laffy area?

Can anything at all be smoked on the bottom shelf of the 1080? I'm getting the impression that might not be the case.

eta: figured I'd ask on here instead of email so others can see as well.

The grill grates are reversible smoke and seer. Labeled as such. Smoke side is like a tip of a pyramid seer is more wide like the bottom of a triangle for good seer marks. I never have smoked much on the bottom since I haven’t needed the room but I’d try.

This guy has done several full house cooks on his. Idk what temp but she’s full

Right! That’s the most full I have seen them. From what I gather this guy cooks and sells the food. He has a bunch of other cookers and has the skills to maneuver it all around but dats full.

Sorta getting side tract but here are a few others he posted. This shows one thing I like about these grills is the shape. Boxy means lots of room that is not captured in the marketing of 1050 sq in of grilling.

Like a MF. You gotta really look hard to knock these pits man. Especially with the latest revisions/versions. That's why I fought the urge to buy right when they came out. But I knew once they got the bugs out it would be a beast.
