Out of curiosity, just where is Mason's located? And also Parrain's? Been a long time since I lived in BR.

Masons, Old Jefferson and Tiger Bend, behind the new Women's Hospital. If that doesn't help, Sherwood and Airline.

I was trying to think of a landmark that you would know. Seigen/Sherwood and Airline is the closest main intersection. That is still a couple miles away.

I didn't understand Mason's success until I looked at a map ( LINK). It's mostly about convenience. For the folks that live along that stretch of Jefferson Hwy, it's the only place nearby. That area is like a small town with only one restaurant.
Plus they did advertise a lot and they won some type of best burger award or something. That carries a lot of weight for rednecks.

I sort of know, generally, the area you're talking about. I never ventured too far east in BR.

Yeah, it is a SE BR location that most of the old BR twats don't visit.
True of a lot of BR restaurants. Residents don't seem to travel far to eat in that city.

Mason's is not overly expensive AT ALL. Poboys and burgers are cheap and come with fries and/or onion rings.
And their onion rings are great.
Raw oysters arent the best, but $7.99 for a dozen can't be beaten.

Sean Vincent Gillis killed one of his victims behind Mason's in their parking lot. Just a little FYI.
I agree with those saying that Mason's is not worth driving across town for and it's not worth waiting an hour for a table, but it's nothing bad and nothing to be ashamed of.

Been eating there on occasion since they opened because it is convenient for me. Not worth driving across town for sure.
I learned long ago, stick to the sandwiches here.
Sandwiches have always been very good, entrees and main dishes have not.

I reluctantly agreed to attempt brunch there a couple weekends ago on a sunday. Got their around 11 and it was and hour and 45 minute wait.

Their brunch is a whole different animal. I have done that a few times and I wouldn't do it again unless people I was going with chose the place and then invited me. You can call ahead to be put on the wait list, which helps, but there are way better brunches in BR.
Also, I agree that Masons isn't really comparable to Parrain's. It is more like Sammy's.
