Didn't they JUST announce a new happy hour?

You've never actually had a meal there, have you?

To be fair, he's probably lumping in the opening and closing of the liquor stores along with the restaurant. I think it's 4 closures if you count that. Restaurant twice, and liquor store twice.

Sounds like you had never been. The place was far from "sucks". They were doing creative things, changing it up daily at the whim of the very talented chef, and executing it well.
I hate to see that the logistics of all 3 isn't doable for the owners, but I guess I can't blame them. If I could only handle 2 restaurants and I had BR, NOLA, and Lafayette on the chopping block (plus I had a buyer ready to purchase the whole gig on the spot), BR would be my choice to nix in a heartbeat.
But don't worry.. we have 5 more burger joints heading our way.

If you include all of the liquor stores, it might be closer to 10!
Some of those stores (the old Books A Million location for instance) were opened for the short-term purpose of selling large chunks of inventory.

You could have specified which Marcello's...
New Orleans has one too, you know.

Marcello’s in BR reminds me of Ben in Parks and Rec repeatedly working for and then quickly quitting the accounting company

How could you underestimate that?

I know the new group coming in. They are good people. I think folks will be happy with what is announced.
BR won't be happy until it's Southdowns Bar again. The pooch is screwed.

They had an interesting menu that was consistently well executed, so yes, it does.
then why has it opened and closed at least 3 times.
Because it is Baton Rouge and you fools still want Hollandaise and crawfish on top of everything.

Baton Rouge had nothing to do with this if you read some of the thread
The place was doing just fine as far as crowds go

A fried-everything joint that sells smoked boudin and bacon cheeseburgers would vacuum the traffic off of Perkins Road.

You can believe what you want.. If a restaurant is packin em in, they're gonna find a way to manage the business and the influx of money. I've never heard of a small restaurant closing because they were too busy.

Their weekend reservations were booked out a week in advance every time I check
I have no idea what their money flow was like but when you get an offer you can’t refuse, which is sounds very clear here, who can blame ya?
I do agree Baton Rouge is mostly retarded and wouldn’t be surprised if it had some hand. You couldn’t pay me to open a restaurant here. Way too fickle.
I’m agreeing with you if that wasn’t clear.

I'm very disappointed they closed. I'm a fan of the place and the food.. and the owners.
I'm serious when I say that the location is snake bit. Baton Rouge locals, especially the age who can afford to spend money on finer dining, still have Southdowns lounge and the Halloween party, etc. etched in their minds and it will take something very significant to change that.

He had the same press release last time he closed. Bizarre he thought one year was adequate time to get it off the ground and running full steam. Lol
