But people are kidding themselves if they think Franklin is going to divulge the full process and seasonings. I mean that is what keeps his lines full. There is no top joint that will share their complete cook process and tricks.
we have pointed out multiple times that its not that he wont.... its that he releases stuff saying its how the restaurant does it...lying.

This dude has the biggest hardon for Aaron Franklin ever. And apparently Jeremy Yoder now too...lol. It's comical watching him get so pissed when anyone says anything positive about Franklin's. Eats him alive.

Camrod you need help dude...lol.

My comment was not in defense of Franklin and saying he wasn’t lying. I’m sure he is. Again, my statement stands, he may lie and claims that is what he does but he will not share his full process and will even lie to protect it.

I probably would too. I like him and his food myself. Only a fool would let it bother themselves so much.

It’s just really scummy to use it to sell books and such. That’s my problem with it. Profit off the lies. I’m not sure if he does it anymore, I stopped caring what he published because it sucked most of the time and you were better off trying other recipes.

No inside knowledge whatsoever. If the Scientist is shooting straight, then that's a pretty lofty accolade for Franklin's.

OTOH, if he and Franklin are in cahoots (give me one of your smokers to give away on my channel and I'll deem yours the best ever), then it's tit-for-tat. Yoder gets more viewers on his channel; Franklin gets more customers at his joint.

What I am speaking of happened way before the YouTube guy started his love affair of Franklin. This is things he did when his restaurant took off on the national level and he started getting book deals and such. So awhile ago.

I don’t like the scientist guy. Seems like he is the least talented bbqer on the tube and he does $50 raffles for what he calls “giveaways”. His “giveaway” links bring you to a page where you have to purchase a $50 coffee mug to register for a chance to win the smoker. Been doing that for a while now. He never mentions that part on his videos.

Did the Yoder dude grow up Amish? I think I’ve heard him say that before

Yeah, he said it. He was also previously a powerlifter.

Interesting that he says that Franklins has the best brisket he ever tasted, I thought his favorite was Goldie’s (or maybe he just likes hanging out with those guys).

For anyone interested, the Goldie’s rub is 1 part pepper, 1 part salt, 1 part lawrys.

It’s 1 part pepper 1/2 part salt 1/2 part Lawry’s. Makes it 1:1. Your version would make it salt heavy.

Is it better than the Bi-Lo brisket in New Iberia?

Really YALL are taking this way too serious. I couldnt give 2 shits for what yall like.. But i do enjoy diving deep into topics and trying to educate people of ideas i have.

why do you say that? What makes Yoder such a lofty accolade? Franklin has a James Beard award. Dude worked at has dads catering company then started a youtube channel.

After a certain point Im not sure what makes one place's brisket different from another. There's only so much you can do until you get it to that perfectly rendered state and then you gotta eat it. My feeling started being the truly elite spots werent the ones that could just get it there but that could go in and do it every day. At Franklins you have extremely high odds of getting some basically perfect brisket. But since they set the standard I think theres been an explosion of spots that have joined them as peers.

The goldies owner has a YouTube video and I could've sworn he said 1:1:1. I don't find Lawry's to be particularly salty TBH.

ETA - just found the video and it is indeed 2:1:1

He also recommends pepper, salt, Lawry's in that order

Have never eaten at Franklin's so I cannot comment directly on that but I suspect what you've written is indeed the case.
