I see one of these places not far from where I am staying. I asked at the hospital and have been told it is a cafeteria. For you NOLA people, is Luby's like a Piccadilly or A&G cafeteria?

Yeah in the way that those cheap knock off toys your mom would get you for Christmas were like the real brand name ones.

Luby's is good. But I'm not making lunch plans there . My grandmother in law likes to go there

You may be the youngest person there but Luby's is still solid. Quality has slipped a bit as their business has declined.

Went once and the food was incredibly bland.

Used to eat Luby's in Houston back in the 1980's. Its like Piccadilly but with people who actually want to work there.

If you like liver & onions, you found a goldmine.
There was a Luby's restaurant, not a cafeteria, in Plano that sat unopened for months and months. It might have even been a seafood restaurant. It finally opened and shut its doors within weeks. Very strange.

There are plenty of food options in that area....Lubys shouldn't be one of them.
Try Cuisine of India....one of the best Indian restaurants in the entire Houston area.

There's no Luby's in New Orleans. I used to go to them when I lived in Houston in the 90's. Its a Texas thing.

Went to one near The Woodlands once in the 90s. Loved the liver and onions.

It's expensive for what it is but you could do worse. There was one that I would stop by on my way home from golf when I wanted something immediate but didn't want fast food. An entree and a slice of pie was like $20 when it was all said and done.
