My thread made it all day yesterday and then, poof, it was gone
I was wondering what happened. I left work and it was gone.

Outback is hugely popular here in Tampa as it was founded here. I visit the original location from time to time as its a few miles from my work. That said, they do a few things well but overall the steaks just suck.
I remember when Outback first came to the Baton Rouge area. It was always consistent, the portions were rather large and service was above the norm for its price level.
Today, it's a shell of its former self. Based upon my experiences, service has deteriorated, portion size has been significantly reduced, while pricing has gone up and the quality is starting to suffer.

Do white people still eat at Outback? They don't in Shreveport.

The Logan's here in Tuscaloosa is in the Wal-Mart parking lot, which is where it belongs. They can advertise 2 meals for like 15 bucks or whatever and draw in the Wal-Mart clientele. It is some pretty terrible food though unless you love peanuts, below average chicken fingers, and over-cooked, bad steaks.
IMO, it is way behind Outback and Longhorn.

This has been my experience lately for Outback as well. The bean counters have messed up what used to be a pretty good chain.

I was somewhat shocked by the recent changes. The chopped salad is now un upcharge.

My old roommate used to work at Outback while in college. He said they used to hand select the meat they were going to serve that evening.
Doubtful if this still holds true today.

Rolls and peanuts are the only thing to get there.
Don't forget the chicken wings, they're money. The rest is garbage.

Logan's Roadhouse >>> Colton's steakhouse
but just slightly. they're both average at best IMO. outback is quite a bit better than both but that's not saying much.

You must have the worst Outback in all the land. If ours misses, it's undercooked.
In general I find most steakhouses undercook, but the few Outback locations I've visited couldnt hit a medium or med-rare if their life depended on it. Its really what degree of well done do you want? Ordinary well or charcoal bricket?

So this isn't a place that requires a reservation? Always looks slammed pack as far as I can tell.

That must suck. Glad ours is the other way around.

At Logan's? Never had them.
Outback used to have great chicken wings. Flavor is still there, but the bird has shrunk.
