What y'all sipping on as of late? Strictly speaking LA breweries? Any taproom-exclusives?

All of the regulars still (jucifer, holy roller, etc, etc)

Picked up some Santeria DIPA from Tin Roof this past weekend. May be the best I've had from TRB

I feel like these same 5 beers are all that are ever really listed, and for years now.

I’m not trying to be an a-hole, I’m genuinely asking: is there nothing new coming out in LA?

Most of what is new is limited release like Pure Tropics was available every where but many didn't get it. DDH Bloom was brewery only

So plenty of good available but what you can get is important

It really depends on where you get your beer from. Those are available just about anywhere that has any craft beers. There are plenty of others but nothing as widely available and as good as the aforementioned

That makes sense, I’m just really surprised that more readily available, solid beers haven’t come about over the last few years.

I’m not knocking any of the above mentioned beers, I enjoy them all (except for voodoo. Sorry, I just didn’t like it). Just seems like it’s become a bit of the status quo.

Flying Tiger in Monroe is brewing good stuff these days. Jucee and Final Resting Place are top notch IMO.

You gotta explore some Port Orleans brews. Gleason IPA and Ella Hopped Pilsner are some of my favorites as of this moment.

That’s the same 5 plus one more.

Haven’t heard if them. Nice. Will have to look into them next time I’m in town.

By the way, I see the avatar image. How is Gilla? I went to Zapp's Beer Fest in BR this year and completely missed them, only to read later that they were a standout among the rest of the breweries. Been fiending to score some.

I’ve really enjoyed “Rind”stone Life from Great Raft. Been keeping the fridge stocked with crowlers since it was released. One of the best beers they’ve made, IMO.

They were the belle of the ball at Beerfest. Loved everything I tried there. If their beer tastes half as good in their tap room as it did at BF, they’ll be the next big brewery in the state.

Right. Those are all core beers that you can find pretty much anywhere in Louisiana at any time

Parish, urban south, Nola, bayou teche, miel all do brewery only things that are new on a pretty regular basis. Too many to really name though

Southern Prohibition (just across the state line in Hattiesburg) has also been killing it lately

I’m digging Bayou Teche Big Fatty these days. Picked up a few 4-packs in Louisiana in other weekend. Only have 2 or 3 bottles left.

Parish Reve is another Louisiana beer I like to keep in my fridge at all times.
