Ended up being a really good show, we got the real Anton experience in person too. He had a fan in the front row tossed out for yelling "Happy Halloween" one too many times in between songs.

Hitting the sold out BJM show at the Toulouse Theatre in the Quarter tonight. This will be my first time seeing them live. Anyone going?

I am hitting both nights for my 5th and 6th shows, super fired up. Leaving NOLA on Friday afternoon and zooming over there. I think there are a ton of afterparties going on in MobTown too for late night debauchery. It should be a grand ole time getting Strung Out.

any Allman Brothers tune, but especially a live-version of Blue Sky

Vincent's, New Orleans

I am hitting highly-esteemed uptown Italian joint, Vincent's for the first time tonight. What do I need to order? What can't I leave without trying. I have been hearing a lot of about the cannelloni and the crab/corn bisque bread bowl.
Wild Wild Life from David Byrne's 1986 film, True Stories. John Goodman even has a role in the flick. Directed by David Bryne and soundtracked by Talking Heads, it's a bizarre hour and a half full of catchy tunes.

Wild Wild Life
Heal Me, I'm Heartsick - No Vacancy

No brainer. No Vacancy from 2003 blockbuster hit, School of Rock.
The Specials' self-titled debut album is chock-full of mad brassy ska.

Van Morrison
Grateful Dead
Talking Heads
James Brown
Sam Cooke
James Taylor
Paul Simon
Little Feat
The Cure
The Allman Brothers Band
The Band
Stevie Wonder
Parliament/Funkadelic
Toots & The Maytals
Peter Tosh
Taj Mahal
Marvin Gaye
The Smashing Pumpkins
Joni Mitchell
Janis Joplin
Really digging this playlist so far, kudos!

re: Best Tacos in Baton Rouge

The carne asada tacos at Honduran joint, La Salvadoreña on Nicholson are bonkers. As is everything on their menu.
Some of my favorites (no particular order):

Dr. John
Allen Toussaint
Any of the Neville family
Doug & Rusty Kershaw
James Booker (I HIGHLY recommend checking him out)
Professor Longhair
Irma Thomas
Lee Dorsey
Louis Prima

In the grand scheme of things Byrne is vastly underrated as a "great" one.

I couldn't agree more. Byrne has proven time and time again to be one of the most electric frontmen with limitless talent and ability.

Keep on Growing, Anyday and I Looked Away all feel criminally underrated. Killer record.
Anything and everything released by Tyler Childers or Sturgill Simpson.

North Broad Seafood/The Blue Store

Just read a writeup (linked below) on NOLA lauding this joint. This is the first I am hearing about it, but I am excited to try it. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations? I am fiending.
