Because you're a condescending a-hole who isn't worth dealing with. I'm sure many posters would echo these sentiments.

I have not gone "keto" but I have been trying to eat fewer carbs and less processed foods.

Monday - Friday I generally eat eggs and bacon or sausage for breakfast, lunch I have a salad with grilled chicken or beef, dinner it is various things but I try to stay away from a lot of carbs.

On weekends I'm not as strict, but I still try to eat low carb items when I can.

I've been doing this for just over a month now and I've lost 8 lbs.

I'm not tracking carbs... but I'm limiting breads, pastas, etc. Likewise, I'm watching my sugar intake - dramatically limiting the number of sweets I've had.

Balls to the wall, hard core diets / lifestyle changes work for some people, they don't work for me.

I haven’t eaten a carb in a week and gained one pound. What gives?

Simple. You aren’t in a caloric deficit.

I'm actually the opposite. If I don't have a strict diet, I tend to go off course more easily.

I've lost 20 lbs in 6 weeks by doing the following:

24 hour intermittent fasting 5 days per week - only coffee in the morning, water all day and then dinner. this started at 18 hours, but after about a week I was skipping lunch without even realizing it. NO SNACKING.

No sugar, no processed, no potatoes in any form, no bread/pasta No alcohol during week.

Vegetables (greens), proteins and fats.

Whole eggs, meats, bacon, advocatos.

Limit workouts/cardio to 2-3 days per week but no more. Try to maximize the keto fat burning but don't overdo it as you get hunger cravings. Its ideal to workout towards the end of a fast so your body starts relying heavily on fat cells for fuel.

Ten more lbs to go and then I will be at goal. Hopefully by July 1. After that, I will adjust to maintain and should be able to ease up on the fasting and just eat cleaner. Once your body adjusts to the diet, its alot easier. Those first days are tough. Sugar and bread is like crack, but once you break your body of it, you don't crave it as much. Its a weird feeling.

I do the same. I never “diet” but I try to watch carbs and sugar when I can. I am pretty strict Tuesday-Thursday I generally only gain some weight when I eat 2 dinners on weekends. I will sometimes go out for dinner, stay out, and pick up fast food or pizza later in the night. When I cut that out I maintain pretty well.

First of all, you don't need to reach ketosis to lose weight. I lost like 40 pounds doing "lazy" keto and I'm not sure I ever reached ketosis. Most of that was probably water weight, but 4 years later I've been able to keep most of it off. Second, being in ketosis is not healthy long term, so be careful with it.

The idea of keto is good. Foods higher in fat and protein take longer for your body to digest and process, so you end up eating less, unless you're just a fat arse slob. The metrics for the keto diet are just too unrealistic for most people, and they fail. Adapt it to your lifestyle and preferences, and you'll likely lose some weight.

Because there is none. It hasn’t been really researched. No one knows the long term affects, they could be good or bad.
