Want to try their sausage and brisket

La23 and Gonzo are turning out some really quality bbq. Good to see there is a solid community being built between them all.

Gonzo’s & Blue Oak slice their brisket a little thicker which I prefer, but LA-23 is well worth the trip for brisket & sausage
The smoked turkey is sneaky good too

Agree with all of it except Gonzos. I have never been.

I had their brisket po-boy at po-boy fest and it was awesome. Want to go check out their place now that they have set up camp.

Their breakfast tacos are legit AF as well.

If you want to try at home:
1hr at 250, then wrap for another hour.
Moist turkey breast with a decent smoke.
As for la23, easily the best in the area.

Not a fan of turkey but everyone I have been with that ate blanchards in Lafayette said it was awesome.

I was in the area yesterday and planned on stopping but the line was too long for my time schedule, this was around 11am.

Blue Oak, Joint and CCBBQ are too inconsistent to be good. Blue oak is best known for their non-bbq items. CCBBQ has won at competition, but their daily is meh. Joint was great in 2010.
They have some great shakes.

You seem like a BBQ connoisseur. Who has the best fatty point brisket around? I’m not a big fan of the flat.
