I’ve got beautiful sour kumquats which are a little sweet actually. Tree is loaded. What ideas do you have? What about a jelly or preserves? I could add heat and make a jalapeño and kumquat relish

i would make something like a jelly, or a marmalade, with them

my grandma had a kumquat tree. we used to just pull them off the branch and eat them raw

That’s what I have been doing for about a month. Just picking them off the tree and eating them whole. . They are delicious on their own. Perfect ripeness right now. I like the marmalade idea though

Make a marmalade.
Make a curd.
Slice and preserve like lemons.

ETA: By preserve, I mean like the Moroccan way

Any of those methods should keep a while and let you enjoy your kumquats well into the fall. The curd will need to go in the freezer, though.

I have nothing to add but every time I hear kumquat I giggle like a ten year old.

Rum, coke, sliced kumquat. Great drink I came up with in Costa Rica.

Pluck them off the tree, wash them and eat them. That is what I do with them.
