King Cakes. Just a heads up that Mardi Gras is very early this year...

Feb. 13th to be exact. For those of you that like to order them to be shipped from the good places like Manny Randazzo, Haydel's, Dong Phuong, etc, be sure to get your orders placed soon. The shipping dates will fill up before you know it.
I order quite a few for family and business associates, so I just placed my order today.
And spare us all the bitching about a king cake just being a cinnamon roll and informing us of how expensive they are.

The place by me is selling DP king cake for $36 each and you have to pay an extra $3 if you use a credit card.

King cakes are overrated.
Btrtigerfan‘s cinnamon buns are much better. I could go for an actual French Galette dew rois.

My 50th birthday is on Ash Wednesday this year…how fricked up is that? Part of me wants to hit up NOLA and just rage starting Fat Tuesday at midnight…the other part doesn’t.

You should definitely start raging at midnight on Fat Tuesday. Make sure to be on bourbon right at midnight.
