Per their FB page. Ovwner is tired and ready for a change. Their pet died and it appears to have put him over the top. Was such a great place. Hope he finds the peace of mind he craves.

today, amy gets to rest.
.
if she was ever sad or unwell, she wouldn't eat. it was one of the many ways we have learned to communicate with each other in the 16 years. food is nourishment and food is joy.
.
the losses from these two years has made me see only the most basic sense of nourishment in food. there is very little joy left.
.
i want to take some time now, for me.
.
some of yall may know about the deal i turned down. it truly was a career move of a lifetime. but at the negotiation table, all i could think of was getting home to work on halloween costumes for marcy and mei.
.
time has become such a tangible commodity to me.
.
industry friends, if you're having that post shift drink two hours before service ends, im thinking of you and im here.
.
i dont know where im going to be in the food business world, but im not entirely ready to say goodbye to it yet. i just know that i cant give it what it deserves right now.
.
however, i am ready to say goodbye to kin, the restaurant, for now.
.
i'll still be here, online, in whatever capacity i can. i still want to have the conversations and share. i may pop up here or there at one of your local favorites. and i may be under the bridges with food and blankets when the weather is colder. if you see me, stop and say hello.
.
for now, come in, so i can cook for you one more time.

That's a deep message I bet resonates for a lot of those in the industry. I had some really great dates with my SO there. Hope the best for he and his family.

Yeah, they got broken into and had all the inventory stolen a few days ago. Unsure if that was posted here. I kinda rolled my eyes because they chose not to press charges using camera footage due to “food insecurity”, but regardless definitely feel for them.

I feel for them, but this sort of mindset is maddening.

Pretty much the same. Food insecurity isn't leading people to break into the same place over and over. Lack of consequences is.

That sucks. Dude made some killer Ramen. But he is obviously a mentally weak pussy. Life eventually folds them all.

There would be no "food security" for ANYONE, if everyone had the mindset of this business owner as to the rule of law.

Maybe he, and this applies to numerous other people in the food scene and NOLA in general, should spend more time on cooking than virtual signaling.
