Where these things as good as I remember or did I just not know any better? I remember they baked for what seemed like an hour, turn down the foil off the brownie the last 10 minutes so it would crisp.

I remember loving the turkey and gravy one.

Chicken pot pie for the mf win. Took a little longer but when that crust started to turn brown, I was down.

70's frozen dinners, probably healthier than the gmo frankenfoods that we consume today

They still have them in the tin tray? I thought they all plastic now, ready for the microwave. Plus, I think the ones today have a ton of preservatives to make them last longer.

That’s why I like Stoffers, no preservatives.

Dude, you nailed it on the head. The only time we got these is when my parents went out. I remember going to the store to pick out the one I wanted. It was like choosing what toy did I want for Christmas. It was no snap decision, but the choice of dessert in the TV dinner, was the major contributing factor.

They were terrible

There was nowhere near that much corn or peas. There was about 2 spoonfuls and half of it spilled over into the main entree. Mashed potatoes would always be frozen in the middle.

You didn’t cook them correctly.

I seem to remember these being so damn hot, you had to let them cool some before eating.

Salisbury Steak was my fave. Once my mom bought a Hungry Man there was no going back to that single-serving crap.

They were fairly well balanced as far as variety of food and daily requirements, but tasted pretty damn bland.

Especially for a kid growing up on traditional N.O. food cook by a coonass grandma.

I’m pretty sure that chicken pot pie sauce was one of the primary ingredients of Greek fire.

those of us with younger siblings remember “graduating” to hungry man before the others. It’s good to be the king

The Libbyland dinners were fun as a kid. I think they were the ones that had some sort of cartoon pressed into the foil that you would find when you finish each compartment. Included was a milk flavoring packet.

I ate plenty of those. As a kid, I didn't know any better, so I thought it was great.

My absolute favorite was tuna pot pies. They haven't sold them for decades, but I found a recipe that tastes just like them. I think it's in the recipe collection.
