Not sure what the plans are yet.
They had decent seafood and their steak specials were pretty good.

That’s a big blow to that area. While there’s a lot of competition for fried seafood around there, theirs was some of the best. I have fond memories of many mother’s day, birthday, and after church meals there.

We enjoyed it, nice outing in the middle of nowhere

It was hit or miss though, I guess it depended on who was cooking in the back

A bunch work at the mexican place right down from Kevin's

It's going to remain a restaurant, have no idea what concept though

Been closed for a few years now. After it flooded for the 500th time FEMA pretty much made them close.

I remember eating there as a kid and part of the dining room being closed because it had water.

Edit: the restrooms on the dining side were closed because they flooded. I think the lounge side restrooms were good but my parents never let 8yo me go in the lounge

Bought out by some people from NOLA, they are supposed to keep a lot of the old menu and add in some Italian seafood

No it's not. Kevin's is old and forgotten. There's the newly opened Fathead's Seafood Company a mile from the diversion and Sarita's is building a new restaurant across the street from their current spot. The old Sarita's building will be a Chinese restaurant. Add in the new pizza place and Smiley's Donuts being built at the new Sarita's development and Kevin's is not even on the radar anymore.

I just saw a post on Facebook, saying they will be operating as Kevin’s a little while longer and the name will eventually change to Dicarlo’s.
Christian DiCarlo is the chef.

I don’t know if this chef is well known from somewhere as I know nothing about the place personally or the chef.

Not sure if it’s the same guy, but a “chef” Christian diCarlo was operating a burger and plate lunch joint in Luling called The Fatty Shack. It closed months ago.

Someone posted pics of the new menu on FB. Looks like they pulled select dishes from the existing menu and will be carrying them over on the new one.

I was trying to post the pics but IMGUR is not working right now.
