I miss that guy. Now all we get is.... "BAM"
I also miss that guy on PBS that painted the nature scenes. You know "And I think a happy little tree lives right over here" that guy. He was awesome.

He wasn't Cajun. Never was. And his fake accent was crappy to boot.

I think I may have inherited some records that he made. some time in the late fifties or early sixties he lived in BR where college drive is about to hit Jefferson Hwy there is a small circle and I was told by my aunts and uncles he lived in that circle

I grew up with Justin's kids Sara and Pat- They lived between Denham Springs and Port Vincent/French settlement- Justin retired from the State of LA as a safety Engineer- then moved to Killian- and thus his PBS career launched- as a cook in addition to a humorist. His mother Olivet was a Cajun- Most of the folks in French Settlement, Maurepas, Port Vincent, Head of Island and lower D.S in the 50 and 60's were cajun, lots of Clements, Aydells, Lobells, Ardoins, Pitre's Leblancs, Guitreau's etc -

I lived in Lacombe for a few years. I never saw him there but heard the same thing, that is that he lived there not far from the only traffic light the city had at the time. By the way, it was a only blinking traffic light. I loved Lacombe.

Justin was half cajun french.
His mother was full bleed Cajun as he used to say.
He lived for many years during the 80's near French Settlement..
Good guy, and funny as hell. I drank a beer with him a on a few occasions in Port Vincent.

I met Justin once when I was in college and working at a gocery store. He came in to do some shopping. Justin's accent was learned, and he was from LP, but Justin was a really super good guy, and represented Louisiana well before any of the other guys were in front of America on TV. I've got a tremendous amount of respect for the man and his memory. Good man.

+1
I met him in Pensacola at a DU Banquet in '75. He was very entertaining and easy to talk to.
Was a good ambassador for La.

Not the most difficult trick in the book.
He was a good image if you wanted our image to be clowning, cooking morons (OK, it fits a little). But I enjoyed his show for years, after a while the bits got old, the giggling old ladies in the audience, whenever he would pour wine and add a little more they would almost wet their granny drawers.
I met him at a safety conference and had a few beers with him, nice guy, just found hissself a good way to make a nice living.
