Hill Top and Swamp Pop are not even in AP and not close to P'ville. Head of Island area and not worth the drive, but if you are out there it will do.

Dutch's is closer and better (by bridge over Amite)

Pimanyolis are a bunch of assholes that have terrible service. Also pretty sure they have a dirty arse kitchen.

I can't attest to there new location, but if it hasn't dropped off I would agree with this. Service was always a little slow, but I heard the new place has been better about this.

This seems like a bitter accusation

Just tried out Galvez Seafood on Hwy 42 last week. Was pretty solid. It kind of compares to Tommy's. More options in the menu than I was expecting.

I don't see how Rocco's even stays in business. I haven't had a single thing there that was better than mediocre.

Me either. Not worth the price IMO.

Fat cat saloon is a cool place to hang

Total dive bar

Doc, I would bet the farm that you and I have been on bar stools in the same dive at the same time at some point. We both seem to frequent those kind of places often.

It's likely. I've been to the fat cat twice I believe to see my friends bands play there. It's an interesting place

Any love for Mom's Place on 42. A fight broke out during my karaoke.

Damn this thread really took off, haha.

Thanks for all the insight guys, I definitely have a little more direction now as what places to try out.

I dont think anyone said anything about the Santa Fe place that just opened, the patio looks pretty cool I wonder if the food is decent.

Mason's is pretty good. I know it's not Prarieville, but it's close enough. Went for brunch today and it was slammed. Good brunch though.

I have a friend who's father is the health inspector. He said outright never to go there. I have been there once and the food was pretty darn good and we were the only English speaking people there.

Had Roma's for lunch, the house special was above average, the pepperoni was exceptional. One of the best pepperoni pizzas I have ever had, will prob eat this atleast once every two weeks. Very quiet place, owner seemed like a good guy, but does take a little bit of time to hand make so I will call in the future.

always forget his name, but he is a super cool man. Always has good things to say and takes a lot of pride in the product he sells.

We learned this the hard way the first time we ate there. Always call ahead now. Great guy and great pizza.
