I always enjoyed the fried crawfish cakes and that sauce that came with them.

One time, I was there with my family, and I got those as an appetizer. My dad tried one bite and liked it so much he asked the server to bring him those on a po'boy for his entree.

I thought those blondes only liked me for me.

I have a feeling the owners of City Pork will scoop up the Chelseas location

The landlord is a nightmare from many accounts.

I wonder what he/she does that is so difficult to deal with. Curious to learn more. I wonder why someone would be bitchy about a really successful business in their building.

It isn't like Chelsea's is poorly maintained or anything.

Leaky roof sounds like it could be a major problem. If the landlord isn't willing to fix something like that, I can only imagine what the other interactions have been like.

Landlord won't fix anything. Wants to jack them around on rent. That's classic landlording.

Oh, you have a wildly successful business, but the roof leaks? Maybe I'll fix it, but your rent will now be double from now on.

Landlords generally assume they have all the power and take successful businesses for granted, thinking that by virtue of their location, they could easily and quickly be replaced. They assume that it is much easier to replace a successful tenant than it is for a successful tenant to pack up and move to a new space. This leads to these kinds of confrontations.

Funny enough the night of the 2005 national championship game between Texas and USC me and two of my buddies chatted up one of the hot blonde waitresses at ZeeZee's to the point where she invited us to come back to her house and smoke with her and her husband. We get there and she has to wake up her husband, let him know that she just brought 3 dudes home from work and we were going to smoke all of his weed. Crazy thing was he was totally cool about it.

Most likely a different blonde than the two that worked there recently. But, who knows, Anna may have been married.

Talked to commercial real estate friend that said the landlord had the Lease Month-to-month and leading to a lot of arguments.

Only way I ever got it.

Sad to see Chelsea's go. Definitely my favorite spot during college. Had everything on the menu.

Those City Pork guys are on a roll. But man, Chelsea's is so close to City Pork I. And that's a big space. And City Pork I is in a building they spent a year remodeling, that just opened what, two three years ago?

Nah, the best bet is for someone to come in and just do a Chelsea's type place, with live music. I hope Dave just sells the name and recipes to someone who just makes a few tweaks and runs with it.
