I went to Terranova's Supermaarket for some good Italian sausage earlier and couldn't resist getting some of their Hogshead Cheese. So, I'm having that with some saltine crackers and a cold beer.

Super meaty with a nice spice to it!

Oh, and I also picked up one of their stuffed artichokes for later. Mmmmmm.......!!!!!!

Looks delicious, but I'd have to lose the saltines.

I don't really understand putting things like hogshead cheese or oysters on a cracker. Is it to mask the texture of the food item?

Looks good, love that place and that is the Italian sausage MCP uses it on their pizza.

And

Not a charcuterie.

I also like my hogs head cheese with crackers. Meat and cheese go with crackers.

For me it’s kind of like chips and dip. I like the flavor of the food but also want some crunch

I guess in my mind, a single-item dish does not constitute a charcuterie.

Love HH cheese tho. We had some out last weekend from Jacobs.

saltines with a dash of yellow mustard on top.

it's both singular and plural... So don't assume.

Don't play with me, boy.

Toof, you've been around here long enough to know better.

Just because you failed to understand what the OP was saying, doesn't mean they were wrong.

Your own general assumption led you to believe what you believed and now you're seeking validation.

Bacon is charcuterie
Ham is charcuterie
Pâté is charcuterie
Head cheese, fromage de tet, brawn, souse, scrapple, et al are charcuterie.

Stop being obtuse because you made a comment that was shortsighted.

A single item is charcuterie. I think where you have erred is that you confused charcuterie board with charcuterie.

So here's the citation for you to STFU and head back to your hole.

LINK

P.S. stop questioning me & do your own research.

you seem triggered and I LOL

link or you just posted your opinion.

My position is a Charcuterie includes various items on a serving tray not a single item.

I don't need to link as it ALL says that. You link your opinion

WHAT IS CHARCUTERIE?

To the tune of “My Favorite Things,” The Sound of Music

??Big wooden cheese boards and meats on a platter
Soft and sharp cheeses with flavors that flatter
Adornments in green with dried fruits and nuts too
This is a glimpse of charcuterie food??

Here’s how we see it: charcuterie is beauty and deliciousness expressed together on a serving board designed for the purpose of bringing people together around simple but elegant food.

More technically speaking, charcuterie can be defined as the culinary art of preparing various cured meats and presenting them in diverse ways. The word “charcuterie” is a French term for a line of cooking devoted to prepared meat products, primarily from pork.

But today, charcuterie has become synonymous with wooden boards piled high with meats and tasty accompaniments such as cheese, produce, crackers, toast, artisan bread, and dips or sauces.

Thank you for being the first to answer my question instead of just downvoting my post for expressing a differing opinion.

A cracker mutes the flavor of what I'm eating. And in the case of raw oysters, it also dries the texture of an otherwise succulent mouthful. Who wants a crunchy raw oyster anyway? Are you kidding me?

Oh, so you prefer the modern effeminate reconstructed zeitgeist definition instead of the definition that’s been around for centuries. Ok, that’s a you problem. You can do your own charcuterie platters to share with your hen circle on insta.

Sucks you’re missing out on fried oysters too, I gather

Look everyone, I may have been the first one to say something that could be taken negative but it was a simple title of a thread that wasn't meant to be misconstrued to cause ill feelings in any way. Everyone has different likes and dislike as well as opinions which EVERYone has. I was simply giving Louisiana credit some something good to eat at the time.Let's get back to more important things like eatin' what we enjoy!!!!! Not everyone enjoys everything or how we say it or interpret it.

Eat well!!!
