I wouldn't say it's bad because it's hard for a plain ol' sandwich to be bad. Rather JJ's in ho-hum. Never understood the hype. I'm also not a cold sandwich kind of guy, so my opinion probably doesn't hold much weight.

Exactly. Mediocre sammich that I could make at home, but if I don't have the ingredients, it will be at my door 5-7 minutes.

Then your comment on bham food is pretty worthless.

Probably so, but if Jimmy Johns is considered a decent option then I'm not missing much.

I've still never had JJ.

Shocking since I'm a late night eater. It's very close to my new place. Maybe someday..

Doubtful though.

I've never had a bad experience there. Granted, I've only been a couple times and I don't crave it or think its the best sandwich ever, but it's not bad.

Jimmy peppers FTW.

It's not that bad

It's not that great

It's just a fricking cold sandwich with some shite on it

The bashing in this thread is pretty laughable. You would think it was a burnt hair sandwich on vomit bread.

My assistant's daughter works at the one in Elmwood. So I have tried it 3 times.

Pros: Fast and cheap
Cons: Average at best

I've had the the same thing all 3 times. The Italian Night Club with hot peppers. First time there was so much mayo I ate less than half and I like mayo. Next two times I got it with no mayo. Marked improvement, but no need to try it again.

Question: if a restaurant serves sandwiches that already come with mayo on them and you find them gross .. but when you ask for no mayo or light mayo you find the sandwich to be good .. who is at fault? - 1) the business for poor sandwich design, or 2) the customer for happening to not like mayo?

Make whatever excuse you want, the place is not good. Not even for a "cold sandwich with some shite on it."

The restaurant for serving too much. It is the only fault I find with Parenton's. I always ask for light mayo there. On a sandwich like the Italian one from Jimmy John's mayo doesn't fit the flavor profile of the ingredients. I should have known better. There was just so much.

Well yea, it's a sub sandwich... Unless heated they are usually just a "cold sandwich with some shite on it"

It doesn't sound like its then having mayo that's the problem but the amount they put.

Horrible example because its nasty anyway, but I remember Burger King always had so much mayo that it would fall out of the burger in globs. I enjoy mayo (not on burgers though but that's another topic) but that was way too much for me.

I've only eaten the Perkins Rd location. It was meh. Firehouse > all other sub shops.
