It is actually pretty good once you can get the pretentious stick out your arse. It is amazing how much better food actually tastes when that stick gets dislodged

It's EASILY one of the most overrated restaurants in New Orleans.

The quality of food coming out of that kitchen is in no way worthy of the massive crowds they receive.

What does overrated mean? It is a popular restaurant that is liked by many people because of the unique food, location, taste, and atmosphere. All of those things make it popular. Overrated doesnt exist in a restaurant. It is what it is. You can say you personally dont like it, but this board loves to tell other people how they should feel about restaurants. That reeks of pretentiousness

Exactly. It may be overrated to some, because they aren't a fan of the food or what's being done there. That's fine. To dog the place though is a bit ridiculous, especially considering its popularity and (GASP!) good food. It's the "I hate what's popular because I am so awesome" pretentious mentality that rules the minds of those dogging it

JI isn't Commanders brah.

I think the place is pretty average food wise. Especially compared to its price point.

I started this thread knowing full and well it would derail into said pretentiousness. This is the F&DB after all.

There's no stick you dumbfrick.

It's just not that good. It's ok. But not worthy o the prices or crowds. And it's filthy.

So should you stand and keep the crowds out? Why is it not "worthy of the crowds?" Are people being forced to go there?

I submit there is nothing unique about the food, location, or "taste" (whatever that means). I suppose the atmosphere is unique, but not to the extent to drive popularity.

The poster who stated it's for tourists, and people who dine in NOLA a few times a year was spot on. I've probably been more times then most on this board, and aside from a few dishes it's forgettable.

oh here we go. lets not destroy this thread like youre on the MSB
Im not trying to. It is clearly worthy of the crowds, that is why people show up. Do you not understand how much of a jackass one sounds when he says it isnt "worthy of the crowds" simply because he himself doesnt like it?
