Had it once without really knowing what it was - was not terrible, but not something I would make in my own home. Would eat it if served again though

I’ve had it served as if it was bbq pulled pork on bun. Was pretty good.

I don’t know what that is in the picture, but fresh jack fruit is delicious. Last time I had it was on a trip to St. Lucia.

If I remember right, it is as high in protein as meat and can grow in a lot of varying climates. Would be an excellent step in eradicating starvation around the world.

It has next to no protein in it. It’s completely overrated nutritionally.

Damn. I've always seen it used as a meat substitute. I don't know that I've personally had it, I possibly have. It's really low in protein -- that's borderline useless.

I've bought that very brand at whole foods. It's decent but not something I buy and cook very often.

Tastes ok. Smells terrible. I don’t find any reason to eat it

I've seen emboslice use it in some of her meals. Maybe the usefulness is texture as a meat substitute? I've never had it.

It's only really decent as a meat substitute when you get it green. Tried it with ripe jackfruit that I bought at Albertsons, too sweet and funky.

It's not overrated - it's downright unhealthy. 2 grams of protein, and 31 grams of sugar for a 1 cup portion. That is junk.

Only thing in it really is a decent dose of vitamin b and maybe c.

Yep, it’s a nutritional bust. But texturally, it’s found a bunch of fans who like it as a meat substitute. Seems kinda dumb to me, but you know, to each his own.

Himalaya's Restaurant had a jack fruit curry Nepali dish that was great.
I think they used canned stuff available in Asian markets.

Nah, but I always touch it when I see it at the store. Same with kiwanos.
