Like Metallica said, Vincent's is traditional red sauce Italian, old school feel, as is Venezia's in Mid City.
Throw in Ristorante Fillipo in Metairie as a good red sauce place.
I like Osteria Lupo for what it is, but sometimes I want red sauce, old man Dago waiters, and Sinatra on the speakers.

Vincent's - you gotta try the corn and crab bisque in the bread bowl.

That makes for an entire experience.

Hot take: of the 100 largest US cities, New Orleans is fairly “mid” when it comes to Italian food.
Posted on 3/12/24 at 3:34 pm to Raoul Stimulato
Define mid and let us know the top tier cities.
I’m genuinely curious

I do not think you possess the gumption to say that to my face
Posted on 3/12/24 at 8:08 pm to Lester Earl
Lester he not only doesn’t have the gumption but I highly doubt he has the wherewithal nor the guts to say that to your face.

Paul, both you and Lester are retarded. Past your bedtime.

Interesting The Italian Barrel did not make that list.

San Lorenzo hands down.
Good place, but he did specify Uptown.

What about Adolfo's? Anyone been there since Adolfo died? I remember really enjoying it in the past.
And Vincent's not good enough for the top 15?
And I wouldn't put Gendusa's on the top 10, but it should make the honorable mention list just for the portions.

I love Italian Barrel but it wasn’t in the requested location.

The lasagna at Avo was my favorite dish I’ve eaten in recent memory.
Posted on 3/13/24 at 12:21 pm to t00f
I have never eaten Italian barrell. It would be unfair to rank it

7. Mosca's (Avondale)
The loyalty some people have for that place. Is it just the mafia history with the Marcello family?
