I’ve been twice and it has been fantastic both times. Good Margaritas too. Touché Tio Javis

Don’t know about that. Just had some nice tacos there though.

It’s gotten better. It was a dumpster fire a year ago.

I prefer Mestizo’s or street food at LaMorenita.

Ah they closed for a little bit then reopened after being bought

Regular patrons of Tio Javi’s on Constitution Avenue may have noticed some changes recently. That’s because the Mexican restaurant has been under new ownership since November, when the owner of the nearby Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Chris Bachman, acquired the business and the property from the family of the late T.J. Moran.

Couldn't beat the $1 taco and $7 pitcher of margarita deal.

Really? I ate there a few years ago, I imagine pretty soon after changing from ninfas, and it was horrible. I stay down there every year when I go to town for work and never even considered it again after that.

There's way too many better places to go in BR than Tios.
Mi Padres, Mestizo, Don Jose, Velvet, Los Reyes, Taco Chops to name a few off the noggin.

And there are countless authentic little joints in Baton Rouge and AP that blow them all away and are cheap. They began to thrive when social media was born and gave them free advertising of the best kind, word of mouth.

El Atoron on 30 near 44 in Gonzales is our new fave out here. Food is off the charts authentic and yummy.
$1 margs and tacos on Tues.

I thought I go to Superior often enough to know of nicknames people call it. Tio Javi's is a new one.

You get to Don Betos on 44 close to Lowes yet? Heard it was top notch as well

He started in a food trailer in front of the hourly hotel on Airline and 931
