Is the idea of "Pork being bad for you" dated?

Aside from bacon or sausage...
Been doing to searching online and several sources stated that pigs are better bred now than years ago and carry less fat. Some stated some cuts, such as a chop or loin are as lean as a chicken breast.
I baked some chops last night and didn't see any noticeable fat at all after they were done.

I thought the pork idea died a long time ago. Chops are pretty damn lean.
You still have plenty of nutritionist holding onto the ancient food pyramid but most doctors are preaching to avoid sugar more than fat.

Fat is not really the enemy any more. It's all the preservatives, processed shite, and additives that are bad for you.
ETA: as the poster above said, sugar is also terrible.
Of course, I say this with a 7 lb pork butt brining in my fridge right now, which will go in the smoker tomorrow, so take my opinion for what its worth.

I think the idea of any natural food being bad for you is gone. Processed foods and sugars are now the boogeyman. we are finally getting it right.

The correct answer yes, it is dated.
The main reason for it being labeled 'Bad' was because of Trichinosis. Also probably due to the fact that pigs seem to enjoy rolling in their own poo poo (kinda like Bamer fans).

Yep, the problem with fat is it's called fat.

They have bred the fat out of pork to where it is way too lean which is why it's "the other white meat" and most of it tastes like chicken and the chicken doesn't even taste like chicken.
Go find some good pork. Go buy some loin chops from Iverstine or anyone growing the old pastured pigs and see the difference. It is night and day and so much better.
Go buy an Iverstine chicken and do the same. It tastes like...well...an actual chicken. A real chicken, not a rubber chicken.
