Is The Great British Baking Show the best reality cooking contest ever?

It’s heated competition that’s not pressed for time, or with any commercials, and has one of the most technically demanding judges. Basically, if Paul likes it, you’re golden. Mary seems to defer to Paul a good bit. At any rate, you’re not winging it on a hope and a prayer with Paul and Mary.

It’s the best. I don’t usually like cooking competition shows but TGBBS is one my favorite shows of any genre.

Yes - A really good show. You do know they cancelled it. So sad they did that. I heard it might come back with different folks judging.

I'm a fan of the Big Family Cooking Showdown. BBC cooking contest with family vs family. I'm a fan because they're all amatuer but put together some great spreads. They give them ample time and they get to cook anything they want. Plus the judges are so nice that it's refreshing.

Two Fat Ladies. Lead the way for Paula Dean and Pioneer Woman (aka Cork Soaker). They are legend.

The lack of hollywood bullshite and dumbed down american production values is so refreshing
the editing and music are not used to falsely inflate the drama or manufacture phony "bad guys"
it is an absolute joy to watch
the tension feels real
and Sue and Mel are absolutely hilarious
shame they couldnt keep this group together for longer
