I saw if mentioned in another thread and looked at it today when passing by and it looked shut down. Maybe he's not open on Saturday?

I forget about this place but his po boys are killer.

As of last friday it was still open. Jerry usually will shut it down for a week during the summer for his vacation. Maybe its this week.

It was open a couple of weeks ago. Love the place. The Jazz Daddy Special is the best sandwich I've ever had. It was the John White Special at Nooley's, then something happened and it became the Nooley's Special. Now Jerry has Jazz Daddy's and it's the Jazz Daddy Special. OK, I've just proven that I'm old.

Talked to Jerry a few weeks back and he didn't mention anything about shutting down. The Jazz Daddy is the way to go, I always get tv Au Jus on the side.

I've only been once. Had the muff and wasn't impressed. Sounds like I need to give them another chance.

I was turned off by them pressing a shrimp poboy, while using the nastiest and smallest looking shrimp one could buy.

hey Old Smokey.....does Jerry use the same type of bread for the jazz daddy special that the john white special was on? I heard that it was not the same bread and was not as good......but I remember the old Nooley's...a John White special with some Curley Q's...

while not from the same bakery I believe it is the same style bread. The bread comes from jumonvilles in gonzales the other bread came from baton rouge, forgot the bakery name but I am sure someone remembers.

Jazz Daddy's is awful.

Cajun J's has a pretty solid burger and some good hot plate lunches. It's right across the street.

Cajun J's is a good place. They don't offer the Jazz Daddy sandwich, so pretty much they aren't in competition. Also, I feel over dressed in Cajun J's if I wear a T-shirt, Jeans, or shoes for that matter.

yeah, i only went there once, and the decor was whatever the hell that was laying around at their house and instead of throwing it away like they should have, they decided to put it in their shitty restaurant.

most of jazz daddy's food is pretty good.
