Put some olive oil on it and put it in the microwave for 9 minutes. Clears it right up

Get it real hot on the stove and then put your hand in the middle of it. Takes the orange color right off.

Soak it in water for a few days and then scrub with a metal brush (put a little elbow grease intp it). That rust will come right off.

Up vote for humorous OP. I'm always amazed at how many people don't recognize such an obvious troll.

Seasoning iron pans is a myth. Wash them just like any other cookware and apply fresh oil each time you cook.

This for sure. Those people make me feel like Einstein.

No, it’s a troll post and 68 people at least don’t recognize it as such.

Jason Isbell has a song about this:
Don't wash the cast iron skillet
Don't drink and drive, you'll spill it
Don't ask too many questions or you'll never get to sleep
There's a hole inside you, fill it
Don't wash the cast iron skillet
Don't drink and drive, you'll spill it
Don't ask too many questions or you'll never get to sleep
There's a hole inside you, fill it

It is iron and very durable. Get some 10W14 (I like Castrol or Havolin, but any good motor oil will do). Wet the rusted surface and you will be good to go. I usually fry eggs in the Castrol a couple of times. This is much less of a problem that these wise guys make it out to be. If you can find Chain saw oil lubricant, it works better. For whatever reason, it just does.
If you do what I have suggested, all will be ok. In the future, you can continue washing it in the dishwasher as long as you coat it with 10W40 as soon as it comes out.
